You Don't Mess With The..

He's got a new movie!!! OMG!!! I can't wait! I've been totally behind the movie watching scene. The last movie I've seen was Atonement, which was really good if not for the stupid people sitting in front of us. They kept on complaining about how boring the movie was and that the story wasn't good. Yeah, it wasn't for you because you can't appreciate art you morons! I really liked Saoirse Ronan, I've first seen here in I Could Never Be Your Woman. It's pretty amazing how she can speak fluently in both american and british accent at such a young age - she'll be 14 on April 12. She's Irish.

I'm still waiting for the Sex And The City Movie to be released in the US on May 30. For now, enjoy this trailer of Adam Sandler's new movie.. YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN!

MaluBYE

We said bye-bye to Malubay last Thursday. She shouldn't be sad. She can come to the Philippines anytime and be assured of stardom. I'm sure ABS-CBN and GMA are now doing all they can to get in touch with her. I hope Kristy Lee gets the boot next week. I pity Syesha, she sings better than Carly, IMHO. But she doesn't have a fan base and the judges doesn't like her very much. I think the two David will face each other in the finals. And I hope the young one wins..

Last Thursday, Ryan and I met for coffee to talk about the "what-went-wrong" episode of GR, the company that breeds gluttony. We met some of the old TRONies and most of them had "nanambok ka!" greeting and we can only say, "both of us are unemployed too!" We visited Bay 2 and it was depressing to see our old stations now empty. Sigh.

Yesterday, I started my room make-over project. I covered the room with a nice wall paper, changed the flooring and added colorful accents [I'll upload the before and after pics when I'm done, hehehehe]. Being busy with this project keeps me sane and makes me stay away from self-pity, LOL! Gotta go, another interview...

Official Bum

I'm officially unemployed! LOL! I used to laugh at people who would leave their current companies without a new job offer. We'll I'm now one of them! Actually there are four of us. We spent last week job hunting and it's funny how easy it is to get a job when you have a job than find a job when you don't have one. Get my drift? Some employed people apply to 1.] check if they're still marketable; 2.] see if they can find an upgrade from their current position and compensation; 3.] they're pissed off with their boss/manager or the company as a whole; and most commonly 4.] to shop around. For unemployed people like me, we apply because we need a job. We're urgent and we're serious. But what I don't understand is it's fuckin' hard to get one. Honestly, if we weren't acting like MPC's [Most Placeable (or Pimpable, hehehehe) Candidates], Pearl and I would have gotten a job offer Thursday last week. MPC's are what recruiters would consider as kick-ass candidates that companies can't refuse if they're presented with their resumes. Having worked for a staffing firm for eight months, I can honestly say we are MPC's. The only problem is, we're in the Philippines and pardon my bluntness but I think the recruitment processes here are full of BS and bureaucracy. One of the companies I applied for last Friday was a not-so-famous BPO company headquartered in Colorado.

Almost a year ago, I decided I wanna move back to Bacolod so I applied thru their website. I got a phone call and was informed I passed and I can come to Bacolod anytime for a face-to-face interview. I flew to Bacolod a month after, at my own expense, only to be denied entry to the office because the moronic company guard thought my leather sandals were slippers. I humbly told him that I have a scheduled interview with their HR officer so he let me in. My friends and I waited for almost 2 hours, constantly getting reminders from the front desk officer to keep our voices down when were already whispering and mouthing words. Pissed, I asked one of the HR generalists if I can be entertained that day or should I just come back. She said they fuckin' lost my resume and they're still looking for it. Whaaaat?! Patiently I waited a few more minutes and finally met the same person I talked to over the phone. She asked for my technical background but she began stuttering when I started talking specifics. She then said I should be talking to another person. I asked her when, she said come back tomorrow. I asked what time, again she said tomorrow. I said okay and walked off with a decision to not come back. I decided to try again last week and took the exam with fresh grads. I was feeling cool when I heard one of the HR officers yell at an applicant, "That's already correct! Isn't Cebu part of the Philippines?!" I knew right then I wouldn't like to work for a company with employees like that. Anyway, I took the exam for a tech position. The exam were all about motivation. Questions like, "Do you work well under pressure?" - "Do you like to follow orders?" and options were Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree and Strongly Disagree. I answered truthfully and the result was UNLIKELY TO SUCCEED. I smiled at the HR officer who said he can't endorse me to the next stage and said, "that's fine.." I wondered, how can an automated system tell if I'm going to succeed? What was even funnier was the fact that 3 of the people I used to coach were all working there with an upgrade from their agent positions with PS. Anyway, I told myself that if somebody would ask me which company I would never ever consider working for, I'd say in a heartbeat ********.

As much as possible, I don't wanna go back to taking calls that's why I'm applying for pharmaceutical companies and see if I can pass as a medical representative [which reminds me that I have to renew my drivers license]. I don't wanna go thru the "Thank you for calling my name is Nadine how can I help you?" drill but if worse comes to shove, I guess I'll be waking up again realizing I was saying my spiel in my sleep. I can only hope I'd get a job offer within this week. Or I'll be broke more than I already am. Wish me luck guys!Ü

Unbelievable!

Maybe I've posted this video somewhere and if not, I wonder why I didn't. Whenever I go online and it seems I can't find anything else interesting to read or play with, I watch this video. It never fails to amaze me and I can't help but wish I didn't waste my younger years bruising my knees. This is Quinn Sullivan. He was 6 years old at the time he appeared in Ellen. You can search YouTube for more of this amazing kid!

Hopefully, hopefully..

Chikezie is out. He's second on my not-so-fave list next to Kristy Lee. Hopefully, hopefully.. she's next.

Vote For The Worst has thrown its support toward country cutie, Kristy Lee Cook. I actually think she has potential if she can sing ANYTHING other than country. This isn't Nashville Star, show some versatility!

DoneDeal.com

I can't pick one particular performance last night. More than anything, I hated the fact that Kristy Lee got good feedback from no less than Simon. Ugh! I wanted her out but I think she's gonna stay another week after last night. David Cook seems to be climbing the top spot from out of nowhere. My langga David Archuleta? I can't agree more with Paula when she said "you can sing the phonebook and we'll love it."

After eight months of trying to see if things would change for the better, I finally decided it's time to walk away. I'm not bitter, I'm not angry, and most importantly I don't regret a single thing thru the whole experience. If anything, it's gladness for all the things I've learned and the chance to meet people who has touched my life. I don't want to sound melodramatic 'coz it was my choice, well.. our choice. So to all the people who have something to say to us or about us.. save it. We're more than aware that you're laughing behind our backs. It ended in a good way and we're all happy. I wonder which is more appropriate to say.. NEXT? It's a DONEDEAL.com? I dunno bro!

Gotta go.. I only have 30 minutes left before AI starts. Later!

$%^I()(*&^%$#$%^&*()(*&^%$#$%^&*

What are they keeping her for?! I was feeling positive to see that for the second consecutive week, Kristy Lee is in the bottom 3 [expected though]. Imagine my horror when it was announced that again.. she's safe. OMG! I mean, Amanda's definitely not one of the most likely to win but between her and Kristy, I'd choose Amanda in a heartbeat. And the nerve for her to say that last night was her best performance! She murdered the song! What does it take to kick her out of the game?! Aaarrrggghhh!!! $%^I()(*&^%$#$%^&*()(*&^%$#$%^&*

Give Her The Boot!

America, I'm begging you.. Give Kristy Lee the boot! I don't really understand why she's still in the competition! I hate her!

After seeing Malubay perform tonight, I finally realized who she reminds me of. The pout, the sweet "okay", the short legs and the range of her voice.. Manilyn Reynes! Hahahahaha! Maybe it's just me but I think they have a lot of similarities.

Syesha's rendition of Yesterday gave me goosebumps. I think it was an amazing performance.

David Archuleta is back! He sang The Long and Winding Road. I loved that song 'coz my dad is a Beatles fan and I grew up listening to him sing their songs (he's got a nice voice too Ü). Here's the video.

Young Casanova

Found this in my YahooMail Mushy folder. I was trying to look for funny emails to fight the sleepiness but instead I got this. If you're in the mood for some romance, read on.

Young Casanova
By Benjamin Joseph D. Collado III
Published on Page C1 of the July 26, 2006 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer

IT'S ABOUT WAKING UP IN THE morning with a bad hangover and being hit by a very familiar feeling that you went overboard again last night. It's about a one-night stand with a girl you met at a party, sneaking out of her room before she wakes, checking your things if something was missing, looking for her phone and purposely deleting your number from her phonebook.

It's about meeting a girl at a bar and offering her a ride home. It's about asking her if she wanted to go someplace private so you can talk--when both of you are aware that you have a different "talk" in mind. It's about meeting your ex again after quite some time and noting how much better she looks now than she did before. It's about pushing the right buttons for her to give in. And finding yourself in bed with her without strings attached, all the while being grateful to your friend who told you it's good not to burn your bridges with your exes.

It's about seeing a girl and finding ways for you to meet her. With pickup lines being overused, you have a better chance of getting her number by having a friend go over and ask her politely if he can have his friend over there introduced to her. It's about texting with her the whole day, getting to know her, showing that you have a genuine interest in her, sharing sweet nothings on the phone and forwarding her cheesy quotes that work almost all the time.

It's about having your friend, your partner-in-crime, the Robin to your Batman--or whatever you want to call him--validate to her all your pledges of devotion and loyalty.

It's about perfecting the art of lying. Telling your girlfriend it was just you and the boys last night--go ask Robin. And not bothering to tell Robin what to say because he already knows the routine. It's about keeping your girlfriend happy. Giving her gifts and surprises so she won't suspect your wayward ways.

It's about not caring if your girlfriend broke up with you because she caught you cheating. There are other fish in the sea, you say. You're better off a free man, free to do anything you pleased without worrying about getting caught.

It's about asking the girl you just met out for a date. Convincing her that you're for real. Making her forget about the warnings her friends gave about you. It's about doing anything so you can bring her home tonight. And if everything else fails, it's always a good idea to have a plan B.

It's about saying the L word without breaking eye contact. Making her believe that you really mean it and that you're starting to fall for her. That's plan B.

It's about thinking of ways to break up with her if she starts to get clingy. Thinking of the standard breakup lines and wondering if she'll buy it. It's about rushing to your friend's girlfriend with a shoulder to cry on. Telling her that everything's gonna work out fine. Comforting her one minute, making out the next.

It's about going out with your friends and partying all night. Drinking till dawn and playing around with girls.

It's about waking up in the morning with a bad case of hangover and a very familiar feeling that you went overboard again last night.

Deja vu.
Ugly cycle.

It really is an ugly cycle. After years of a life like this, you begin to ask yourself if there is more to life than drinking all night and finding someone to hook up with. And in the morning when you wake up, no matter how much you soap yourself, you still have this uneasy feeling that you're still dirty.

Your friend has found a girl that he's serious about. When you go out with your friends, you find him taking a raincheck because he has to spend time with his girl. You and your friends wonder what has gotten into him. You even wonder if he's lost his mind. How can he even think about trading this kind of life? There's nothing better than a bachelor's life.

It's all fun and games the first few years. But after a while, you look at yourself in the mirror and find the traces of abuse you did to yourself. And if you don't change your ways, you fear that maybe someday you'll find yourself alone and lonely.

And after all the years of booze and girls, you can finally sum up your life in one word--empty. Maybe it's not good to spend your life that way. Maybe your friend hasn't lost his mind, after all.

What you need is to find someone who can make you look forward to another day. Someone who, when you think about her, never fails to put a smile on your face. Someone who makes you want to be a better man--to steal a line from pareng Jack Nicholson.

Someone who fills that emptiness in you, making you complete.

Before, when you to wake up in the morning and find somebody in your arms, your first thought was how you could get rid of her without hurting her feelings. But now, what you need is a girl who makes you want to think of reasons and ways to let her stay in your arms.

Because when she's right there beside you, it is as if everything's okay. That nothing else matters but you and her.

You need somebody who makes you miss her so much that you buy a bottle of her perfume and spray it on your pillows so, when you go to bed at night, you can hug the pillow with her scent on it and wish that it was really her you were hugging.

You need somebody who makes your heart skip a beat when she smiles at you. Who makes you feel so comfortable and safe that you pour out your heart to her, unburdening secrets that you've kept for a long time. And having her tell you that it's okay, you have a new slate now, that you can leave everything where it belongs, in the past, and concentrate on what lies ahead of you.

You need someone who makes you listen more to love songs on the radio. Someone whom you pray for at night before you sleep. Someone you wish you'd dream about, for even while you sleep, you still want to be with her.

Someone whom you can finally look in the eye, without all the guilt and deceit, and tell her you love her. And you get this mushy feeling inside that tells you it's true. You want to shout over the rooftops, you love her, and she loves you! There's no better feeling in the world.

I have found my someone. I have found my all. I've been wanting to ask this for a long time now. And I think there's no better timing than now. So here I am, down on one knee, asking you, my someone. Will you marry me?

Danny Meets Ellen

Two of my fave gay celebrities met. Nice! Too bad we won't be getting the chance to hear him more. Maybe we will.. but not in a competitive way.

David Archuleta news:
Was there more than just nerves behind 17-year-old DAVID ARCHULETA's shaky performance on last night's "American Idol"? The early favorite was definitely off his game and even forgot several lines during his version of THE BEATLES' "We Can Work It Out." Sources are telling ET the singer may be feeling the pressure from his "stage father" JEFF ARCHULETA, who reportedly yelled at David during a recording session Monday. Sources say Dad wasn't happy with his son's singing -- and even brought him to tears. Neither Jeff nor reps for "American Idol" would comment on the alleged incident.

Poor baby.. =(

I Was Right.. Again!

I did say either Kristy Lee or David Hernandez would be sent home tonight. I was right! They were the bottom 2 and I think David should have been given a chance. But for the same reason that Asia'h was sent home over her, she's pretty. Like honestly, I've seen quite a lot of people who auditioned in AI that sounds just like Leann Rimes. She doesn't bring anything new to the table. She should be eliminated next week!

Danny Norriega was wearing the R. Malubay shirt next to the daddy. Awww, how sweet and supportive.

Uber Major Booboo!

OH MY FUCKIN' GAWD! I cringed while I was watching this video. This is so pathetic and humiliating! And she fuckin' won?! What was wrong with the judges?! I'd prefer somebody who's not so pretty but with the body and brains to represent the country. Damn, I feel so embarassed!

Ruffa's take on Janina San Miguel:
I believe that a beauty pageant should be judged not only for the beauty but also for the brains. Kasi you're representing your country in an international competition. You're gonna be with different delegates from different countries so you have to represent the Philippines in the best way you possibly can. So that's not just your beauty but your inner beauty, your physical beauty and also the way you speak, the way you carry yourself. I mean, Pangit naman sabihan ang mga Pilipinang, (silence) you know.. di marunong sumagot dba?.. di marunong mag-english.. To think na 98% of our population eh nag-e-english.

Bb. Pilipinas World has 7 months, so dapat gamitin nya yung 7 months na yun pra i-challenge yung sarili nya. Mag-aral cya, mag-aral cya ng speech lessons, mag-aral cya how to have confidence.. how to carry herself. At ipakita nya sa lahat nga tao na nagri-ridicule sa kanya na "'bah kaya ko to! Mag-s-shine ako sa Ms. World.. at gagalingan ko yung mga sagot ko next time."

But always remember - Beauty with a purpose and beauty with brains!

GOSH Ruffa, for the first time.. you said something I totally agree with.

Here's the video and I'll gladly let you kick my ass if you disagree with me!

Americans have their own too!

Not His Cup Of Tea

David Archuleta's performance last night was criticized. =(

He admitted that the Lennon and McCartney songs are not his cup of tea and he forgot some of the lyrics. Unfortunately for those who wants him out of the competition, he's very popular and have legions of fans so without a doubt, we'll still see him next week. It was just frustrating to see him like that. Brooke White was amazing! She's very pretty, sexy and above all, talented. I think Kristy Lee will be sent home later. Her or David Hernandez.

I loved the new stage and the new opening-credits sequence! Kat McPhee will be performing tonight. Weepee!

AI Season 7's Top 12

America came to their senses! Luke Menard is out of the game! Why Chikezie won over Danny Noriega, I don't know. But I think Asia'h was voted off over Kristy Lee Cook because the latter had more appeal. Talent-wise, I say Asia'h was way over Kristy. Kady Malloy was also voted off. I have to agree with Simon though, she's very talented but a bore on stage. I think she ought to stick to what she does best.. impersonation.

The top 12 has been completed so we leave it at that. I don't really care anyway. David Archuleta secured his spot in the top 12 and that's all that I want.

I'm Weird/Wired this Way

The rules: The first player of this game starts with the "6 weird things/habits about yourself" and people who get tagged need to write a blog of their 6 weird habits/things, as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their comments and tell them to read yours.

Ryan tagged me and first thing I thought was.. what's in it for me? But anyway, it wouldn't hurt to try so here's mine.. [Disclaimer: I learned not long ago that some of these are not habits but some forms of OCD's.]

6. I rub my toe fingers against each other repeatedly before sleeping until it hurts.

5. I check the lock of my necklace every 5-10 minutes to make sure it's at the center of my nape.. or the lock of my bracelet to make sure it's at the center of my wrist. If it isn't for a long time, it gets uncomfortable.

4. Some days when I'm not working, I listen to one of Freestyle's older albums [any of the first 3] over and over and over and over again. I don't mind if it's the same old song playing again and again. Oh yeah, I'm a Freestyle sucker!

3. If I see a wallet that I like yet don't have enough money to buy, I'd suffer an hour of tossing and turning in my bed thinking about it until the day I finally have it.

2. If I like one particular picture, I find myself staring at it for a veeerrryyy long time. Eventually I'd get sleepy but end up getting up again to reach for that picture and stare to my hearts content.

1. If I drop something, I make sure it passes exactly where it passed when it fell. Say if I drop a coin and it rolled in between somebody's legs, I'd excuse myself and let the coin pass that someone's leg [backwards] even if it's really uncomfortable. If it's inevitable, I need to do it again [make it "accidentally"] so it happens twice. If you don't get it, good. I don't expect you to. Maybe if we could get together, I can show you.

I'm tagging: Gwen, Talia, Matet, Angel, Aubrey, and Karina.
Check out who TAGGED ME.

Killed For Being Gay

This was Ellen Degeneres' speech about a 12-year old gay who was killed for well.. being gay.. “A boy has been killed and a number of lives have been ruined,” she said. “And somewhere along the line the killer, Brandon, got the message that it’s so threatening and so awful and so horrific that Larry would want to be his valentine that killing Larry seemed to be the right thing to do. And when the message out there is so horrible, that to be gay, you can get killed for it, we need to change the message [applause]. Larry was not a second-class citizen. I am not a second-class citizen. It is OK if you’re gay…. I would like you to start paying attention to how often being gay is a punch line of a monologue or how often gay jokes are in a movie. That kind of message–laughing at someone because they’re gay is just the beginning. It starts with laughing at someone, and then it’s verbal abuse, and then it’s physical abuse, and then it’s this kid Brandon killing a kid like Larry. We must change our country, and we can do it. We can do it with our behavior, we can do it with the messages we send our children, we can do it with our vote.”

He's NOT Gay!

I am so glad that fake rocker Robbie and the Martin Nievera look-alike Jason is out of AI. Alexandréa Lushington shouldn't have been kicked out of the competition. Unfortunately, there will only be 6 girls who'd make it to the top 12 and I personally think it should be Asia'h, Syesha, Ramiele, Carly, Kady and Brooke. David Archuleta [the next AI..Ü] cried because Alexandréa was one of his competitor in Star Search where he came out as the big winner. A lot of people think he's gay but HE'S NOT! I think he's just a sheltered kid, probably a mama's boy who was raised to be a refined gentleman.

Somebody Kill Me Please!

There's nothing much to talk about the girls' performance in American Idol. It was just okay. Except for Brooke White's beautiful rendition of You're So Vain. I was so happy to hear Malubay talk about her being Filipino. She's really proud of her roots. It's a good move knowing how big the Filipino community is in the US. I hope she stays in the competition for a long time so we can listen to her more. Unfortunately, I can't wish for her to win. I just know David Archuleta will be the next AI!

Just a question.. Have you ever trusted somebody so much.. somebody who promised a world of flowers and butterflies.. and in the end turns out to be a total a-hole? If yes, what is it worth to still hold on to those promises? Life's a bitch and that's something I've learned a long time ago. But I wasn't prepared to know it feels even worse if somebody has his hand around you and makes you even more miserable than you already are with only the world's shit to worry about. SIgh. In the words of my one great love Adam Sandler.. SOMEBODY KILL ME PLEASE!!!!

Okay, maybe I'm judging too soon. One more month.. One more month then I can finally say I'm done.

I JUNO, Bro!

A lot of thing has happened the last couple of days and I can only sum it up to one word.. DRAMA! I don't want to elaborate 'coz we're still uncertain about a few things but I hope the pictures that I'm gonna upload sometime soon [maybe after this] would shed some light to the complexity of our situation. Update: the pix are HERE. Thing is, we still smile so you might just think everything's okay. It seems like we can survive just anything. But friends.. Ryan and I are doing okay. We are thinking looong term so.. This will be for the better. =) If this is confusing to you, I apologize. My mind is so busy with a lot of things. I think I'm going crazy. I woke up yesterday and washed my face, put on some decent clothes and hailed a taxi. I spent an hour in SM not knowing why I'm there in the first place.

IMDb: Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, an offbeat young woman makes an unusual decision regarding her unborn child.

Faith and I.. to temporarily forget our worries watched Juno yesterday at Ayala. I think it was hilarious! I loved Juno to death! She's cool, she's funny and she's uber smart. Even in real life 'coz I saw her interview with Barbara Walters. But Jennifer Garner made me cry. Shit! I can totally relate to her. Shit shit shit! Tals, don't worry. I'm still gonna watch it with you again on Sunday.

David Archuleta ROCKS!!! He sang Imagine earlier and I almost shit myself in bed! I'm in-love with him. He's sooo cute!
