Is this going to be forever?!

I've been very pre-occupied with Farm Town lately that I completely forgot about the other things that I used to love. Wait, pre-occupied is not the proper term.. ADDICTED! I even bought a second hand laptop just so I can extend my farm because the f*cking computers at the Expresso can't handle the application. Anyway, since I'm just waiting for Ryan to set-up the laptop... I mean customize and also still deliberating which internet connection I'm gonna get for myself.. I decided to do something I used to do a lot before.. Watch funny babies/kids in YouTube. And I found this video of a 7-year old boy who got sooo wasted after going to the dentist. The meds are probably just too heavy for the kid.. I've never laughed this hard in a loooooong time..

Embarrassing Me..

Here I am again in Ryan's computer room updating my online networking pages while waiting for him to come back home [his mom asked him to do something] and I decided to read my older blogs and I'm a little embarassed about some of the things I've said. I hated how confident I was about GR and how we can be fuckin' rock stars and eventually blogging about the closure of the company and how our homophobic/asshole/control-freak/bi-polar ex-boss ruined our once semi-organized lives. I still blog about non-sense things but I honestly think I was worse a few months back. Now that it's done, I realized my blogs about American Idol were really annoying. Ryan, you were right about temporarily removing me from your contact list, LOL. I would have done the same thing. New year is still over a month away but I firmly resolve [murag confession..] that I'll keep my worthless ideas to myself, hahahahaha! Maybe I was wrong about throwing away my journal and using it as a notebook for training. Oh, and one more thing.. I had sooo much petiks time back then to blog because there were times that I don't feel like being a rock star [sa mga kasabot lang..] Ü Ok, I'll stop now 'coz I feel I'm being non-sense again. One thing I can't stop doing though is sharing baby videos. Watch this cute baby..

Hihihihihihi!

I found two new cool and funny baby videos while waiting for sleep to come earlier this morning. I love the dancing baby! She just dropped her toy and she was annoyed that they stopped playing the music which by the way is an Eminem song.. Enjoy watching while I savour the last few hours before I get back to work.

I intended to blog about something serious like the fact that I had another false alarm after suspecting that I was 2 months on the family way and how I've been doing with my new job. Then my bf showed me this video...

Seriously?!

American Idol Season 7 audition went to Atlanta, GA. I wish I had that video where the girl sang How Do I Live in memory of her dad who passed away two days before that audition. It was very emotional that Paula Abdul had to walk away for awhile. All I have is this video. Hilarious!

Gwenk gave me this ad and let me help you out bro. It's an ad anyway so it should be available to all. I just can't help but ask, seriously?! Anyway, here it is.

They call it forbidden love.. and i call it ... special love...

Description:

Im looking for serios relationship ( M2M)

About Me:

A natural human being shall i say hehe. Well I live my life in a way that I can. I mingle with people and show kindness in a way that I can. I dont know whats the good and bad in me. Its just people arround me are my mirrors on how I deal with the world. Sometimes Im matured and sometimes I act like a kid.

We cant please everybody. Some may like you and some may hate you. I dont care about them because as long as I dont have any bad intention. Sometimes other people expect too much from me that it reach to the point that they think Im like a robot who can deal all things perfectly. Im just human and i also commit mistakes. Lots and all kinds of mistakes, big and small.

I love watching stars at night. While watching i listen to classic love songs. Then my mind fly and dreams on many things. Wishing there will be someone sitting beside me. Someone who will hold my hand in case I lost my balance. Someone who will put a blanket in my body in case i sleep suddenly. Someone who will watch sun set together with me.

Someone who will love and accept me for what I am. Someone who will love me not just bec of my positive and nice attitude but also love me even though i have some negative attitude too. I am not perfect person. For me true love is a full acceptance of that certain person. Love that person in every piece of his/her life. True love is like being responsible on words you promised and dreams you have to make it true.

Many people say Love is complicated. Actually no, Love is not complicated bec. Love is Simple and Beautiful. Its just we humans who make it complicated. Love is a gift by God. No matter what gender you had as long as you know how to use your heart... then ... be happy bec. you know how to Love.

Who I Want to Meet:

Wither you are 50 years old or 80 years old..its doesnt matter. Maybe other people hate that age then its called conditional love and i am not into that. I am more on Unconditional love that accepts the whole person. Accepting the whole package and if you want changes.. then the two of you can talk in order Love to grow deeper.

Love is not about your physical or your status. Love is all about two hearts who beats for one another. Love is the most powerful force human cant resist. And im proud to say that Im Human and I know how to Love

The Modern 3-Year Old

Got this from my bro's phone. This is Cybill, our 3-yr. old cousin. We don't know who taught her this [maybe my naughty bro who just won't admit] but she came home from school one day, took off her uniform, and begged my bro to take a video saying she'll dance like a boldstar. So hilarious and cute! Ü They're [both bro's, B.boy and Martoi] talking in Ilonggo but i'm sure Bisaya's can understand it. The quality is bad 'coz B.boy was laughing and can't get his hand steady.. Click on the picture.

I'm supposed to be at home watching TV but I'm here in the office instead 'coz I slept the whole afternoon 'til evening yesterday. I wasn't able to work as what we've promised to do this year - work a few hours during weekends. The girls here in the office went to Ayala yesterday after work to unwind and I was so fuckin' tired when I got home. Earlier I went to SM with Talia and she gave me her Christmas gift since I haven't seen her since I left for Bacolod. It's a customized Starbucks mug with our pictures. I felt guilty 'coz I didn't get her a gift so I treated her to lunch instead. I better start working now 'coz I have a lot of things to cover up for last night. Char!

---> I just have to say this, I think I'm obsessed with Ellen Degeneres. I think I've blogged about her more than I blogged about my love Adam Sandler. Anyway, here's another 3-year old who graced Ellen's show. Her cuteness is killing me!

Need Glasses?

Have you ever asked yourself this, "How many among your friends wear prescription glasses?"

I have at least ten who does. I used to have one but I lost it. I used them only when I had migraine attacks back in high school. My vision is still 20-20. When I got my driver's license three years ago, the officer told me there's something wrong with my right eye and I argued telling him I covered my eye too hard when he was doing the test that's why it was blurry. He believed me.

Talia sent me this video that's why I chose this topic. I can't get over it. It's sooo funny. So you guys, take care of your eyes.. you don't want this to happen to you. Check it out! The Cebu pioneers for our company met at our CEO's house yesterday morning to plan for our Christmas Party. After a long time, I was directly involved in planning a party. I used to be the president of our village youth group, I ousted myself in the middle of my first year but my successor did a very bad job so they asked [begged] me to take over. I organized a basketball league and I would wake up in the morning with two basketball teams in uniforms waiting by our gate 'coz they can't start without me. I used to organize graduation tributes, valentines and halloween parties and the most unforgettable millenium vigil where I was able to convince all homeowners to gather in front of our house and bring food to celebrate together. The countdown to welcome year 2K was amazing! I also took care of annual fiesta preparations. From the solicitations to arranging masses, programs and bayle as we commonly know it and creating programs for adults, teens and kids. The village council asked me to run for Sandigang Kabataan [a city-wide Filipino youth organization] but my dad discouraged me as I rarely have time to spend with my friends from school [grades were never an issue]. Sigh, those were the days. Although, every year since I left Bacolod, I still get SMS from the rest of the committee who are still active asking me if I can come home and help out. It would be arrogant to say this but I was very effective that's why I always hear them say "it could have been better if you were here." Anyway, back to the Christmas Party.. We made plans of having parlor games [read: naughty] and I think it would be a fun-filled night [even if I have to leave early for Bacolod, waaaaaaah!]. It would be a pool party so it's gonna be wet and wild! You'll find out how it goes anyway. Wishful thinking: if you bookmark this site. **wink**

I saw the video of my former officemate's baby and I remember someone sending this video way, way back. I dunno if it's okay to post this so attention anyone, please lemme know if I should take it off my site. This video reminds me of the movie Little Man. That was hilarious because Marlon Wayans is funny even without words. This one, I'm a little offended.. 'coz the baby is sooo cute. I know guys would love this.. Who To Marry?

Found a forwarded email [09.16.06] and sorry to disappoint hopeless romantics but these are not from Dr. Phil or any professional therapist or educator or psychologist or whatever. These were answers by kids [i'll just insert my comments 'coz I can't help it, hehehehe] and we adults should listen to them. Realistic and innocent.

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY?

  • You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming. - Alan, age 10 [boys will be boys]
  • No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with. - Kristen, age 10 [destiny?!]
WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
  • Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then. - Camille, age 10 [I should have married a year ago, sigh]
  • No age is good to get married at. You got to be a fool to get married. - Freddie, age 6 [woman-hater in the making.. or geek]
HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
  • You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids. - Derrick, age 8 [hahahahaha!]
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON?
  • Both don't want any more kids. - Lori, age 8 [omg!]
WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
  • Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough. - Lynnette, age 8 [smart kid]
  • On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date. - Martin, age 10 [true]
WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
  • I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns. -Craig, age 9 [criminal mind at an early age]
WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
  • When they're rich. - Pam, age 7 [clap, clap, clap]
  • The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that. - Curt, age 7 [law abiding kiddo]
  • The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do. - Howard, age 8 [who the fuck made that rule?!]
IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
  • I don't know which is better, but I'll tell you one thing. I'm never going to have sex with my wife. I don't want to be all grossed out. - Theodore, age 8 [wtf!]
  • It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them. - Anita, age 9 [well said]
HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED?
  • There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there? - Kelvin, age 8 [bravo!]
And the #1 Favourite is.........

HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
  • Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck. - Ricky, age 10 [sad, but so true]

I Kill You!

I love watching stand-up comedy acts. If I have to choose where to go on a Saturday night between the hottest spot in town or the local comedy bar [22nd Street, hehehehe], I'd choose the latter. I've seen Margaret Cho, Ellen Degeneres, Rex Navarette, even the PorkChop Duo perform [online] but this is one of the funniest acts I have ever seen. This is by the hottie comedian/ventriloquist Jeff Dunham. Meet Achmed, The Dead Terrorist.

* Ventriloquism: The art of projecting one's voice so that it seems to come from another source, as from a wooden figure.

Matter of Taste
By Matthew Sutherland

I have now been in this country for over six years, and consider myself in most respects well assimilated. However, there is one key step on the road to full assimilation, which I have yet to take, and that's to eat BALUT.

The day any of you sees me eating balut, please call immigration and ask them to issue me a Filipino passport. Because at that point there will be no turning back. BALUT, for those still blissfully ignorant non-Pinoys out there, is a fertilized duck egg. It is commonly sold with salt in a piece of newspaper, much like English fish and chips, by street vendors usually after dark, presumably so you can't see how gross it is.

It's meant to be an aphrodisiac, although I can't imagine anything more likely to dispel sexual desire than crunching on a partially formed baby duck swimming in noxious fluid. The embryo in the egg comes in varying stages of development, but basically it is not considered macho to eat one without fully discernable feathers, beak, and claws. Some say these crunchy bits are the best. Others prefer just to drink the so-called 'soup', the vile, pungent liquid that surrounds the aforementioned feathery fetus...excuse me; I have to go and throw up now. I'll be back in a minute.

Food dominates the life of the Filipino. People here just love to eat.

They eat at least eight times a day. These eight official meals are called, in order: breakfast, snacks, lunch, merienda, meriendaceyna, dinner, bedtime snacks and no-one-saw-me-take-that-cookie-from-the-fridge-so-it-doesn't-count.

The short gaps in between these mealtimes are spent eating Sky Flakes from the open packet that sits on every desktop. You're never far from food in the Philippines . If you doubt this, next time you're driving home from work, try this game. See how long you can drive without seeing food and I don't mean a distant restaurant, or a picture of food. I mean a man on the sidewalk frying fish balls, or a man walking through the traffic selling nuts or candy. I bet it's less than one minute.

Here are some other things I've noticed about food in the Philippines :

Firstly, a meal is not a meal without rice - even breakfast. In the UK, I could go a whole year without eating rice. Second, it's impossible to drink without eating. A bottle of San Miguel just isn't the same without gambas or beef tapa. Third, no one ventures more than two paces from their house without baon (food in small container) and a container of something cold to drink. You might as well ask a Filipino to leave home without his pants on. And lastly, where I come from, you eat with a knife and fork. Here, you eat with a spoon and fork. You try eating rice swimming in fish sauce with a knife.

One really nice thing about Filipino food culture is that people always ask you to SHARE their food. In my office, if you catch anyone attacking their baon, they will always go, "Sir! KAIN TAYO!" ("Let's eat!"). This confused me, until I realized that they didn't actually expect me to sit down and start munching on their boneless bangus. In fact, the polite response is something like, "No thanks, I just ate." But the principle is sound - if you have food on your plate, you are expected to share it, however hungry you are, with those who may be even hungrier. I think that's great!

In fact, this is frequently even taken one step further. Many Filipinos use "Have you eaten yet?" ("KUMAIN KA NA?") as a general greeting, irrespective of time of day or location.

Some foreigners think Filipino food is fairly dull compared to other Asian cuisines. Actually lots of it is very good: Spicy dishes like Bicol Express (strange, a dish named after a train); anything cooked with coconut milk; anything KINILAW; and anything ADOBO. And it's hard to beat the sheer wanton, cholesterolic frenzy of a good old-fashioned LECHON de leche (roast pig) feast. Dig a pit, light a fire, add 50 pounds of animal fat on a stick, and cook until crisp. Mmm, mmm... you can actually feel your arteries constricting with each successive mouthful.

I also share one key Pinoy trait ---a sweet tooth. I am thus the only foreigner I know who does not complain about sweet bread, sweet burgers, sweet spaghetti, sweet banana ketchup, and so on. I am a man who likes to put jam on his pizza. Try it!

It's the weird food you want to avoid. In addition to duck fetus in the half-shell, items to avoid in the Philippines include pig's blood soup (DINUGUAN); bull's testicle soup, the strangely-named "SOUP NUMBER FIVE" (I dread to think what numbers one through four are); and the ubiquitous, stinky shrimp paste, BAGOONG, and it's equally stinky sister, PATIS. Filipinos are so addicted to these latter items that they will even risk arrest or deportation trying to smuggle them into countries like Australia and the USA , which wisely ban the importation of items you can smell from more than 100 paces.

Then there's the small matter of the purple ice cream. I have never been able to get my brain around eating purple food; the ubiquitous UBE leaves me cold.

And lastly on the subject of weird food, beware: that KALDERETANG KAMBING (goat) could well be KALDERETANG ASO (dog)...

The Filipino, of course, has a well-developed sense of food. Here's a typical Pinoy food joke: "I'm on a seafood diet. What's a seafood diet?" "When I see food, I eat it!"

Filipinos also eat strange bits of animals --- the feet, the head, the guts, etc., usually barbecued on a stick. These have been given witty names, like "ADIDAS" (chicken's feet); "KURBATA" (either just chicken's neck, or "neck and thigh" as in "neck-tie"); "WALKMAN" (pigs ears); "PAL" (chicken wings); "HELMET" (chicken head); "IUD" (chicken intestines), and BETAMAX" (video-cassette-like blocks of animal blood). Yum, yum. Bon appetit.

A Rhose, by Any Other Name
By Matthew Sutherland

"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches"-- (Proverbs 22:1)

WHEN I arrived in the Philippines from the UK six years ago, one of the first cultural differences to strike me was names. The subject has provided a continuing source of amazement and amusement ever since. The first unusual thing, from an English perspective, is that everyone here has a nickname. In the staid and boring United Kingdom , we have nicknames in kindergarten, but when we move into adulthood we tend, Iam glad to say, to lose them.

The second thing that struck me is that Philippine names for both girls and boys tend to be what we in the UK would regard as overbearingly cutesy for anyone over about five. Fifty-five-year-olds colleague put it. Where I come from, a boy with a nickname like Boy Blue or Honey Boy would be beaten to death at school by pre-adolescent bullies, and never make it to adulthood. So, probably, would girls with names like Babes, Lovely, Precious, Peachy or Apples. Yuk, ech ech. Here, however, no one bats an eyelid.

Then I noticed how many people have what I have come to call "door-bell names".

These are nicknames that sound like -well, doorbells. There are millions of them. Bing, Bong, Ding, and Dong are some of the more common. They can be, and frequently are, used in even more door-bell-like combinations such as Bing-Bong, Ding-Dong, Ting-Ting, and so on. Even our newly appointed chief of police has a doorbell name Ping . None of these doorbell names exist where I come from, and hence sound unusually amusing to my untutored foreign ear.

Someone once told me that one of the Bings, when asked why he was called Bing, replied, "because my brother is called Bong". Faultless logic. Dong, of course, is a particularly funny one for me, as where I come from "dong" is a slang word for well; perhaps "talong" is the best Tagalog equivalent.

Repeating names was another novelty to me, having never before encountered people with names like Len-Len, Let-Let, Mai-Mai, or Ning-Ning. The secretary I inherited on my arrival had an unusual one: Leck-Leck. Such names are then frequently further refined by using the "squared" symbol, as in Len2 or Mai2. This had me very confused for a while.

Then there is the trend for parents to stick to a theme when naming their children. This can be as simple as making them all begin with the same letter, as in Jun, Jimmy, Janice, and Joy.

More imaginative parents shoot for more sophisticated forms of assonance or rhyme, as in Biboy, Boboy, Buboy, Baboy (notice the names get worse the more kids there are-best to be born early or you could end up being a Baboy).

Even better, parents can create whole families of, say, desserts (Apple Pie, Cherry Pie, Honey Pie) or flowers (Rose, Daffodil, Tulip). The main advantage of such combinations is that they look great painted across your trunk if you're a cab driver.

That's another thing I'd never seen before coming to Manila -- taxis with the driver's kids' names on the trunk.

Another whole eye-opening field for the foreign visitor is the phenomenon of the "composite" name. This includes names like Jejomar (for Jesus, Joseph and Mary), and the remarkable Luzviminda (for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao , believe it or not). That's a bit like me being called something like "Engscowani" (for England , Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland ). Between you and me, I'm glad I'm not.

And how could I forget to mention the fabulous concept of the randomly inserted letter 'h'. Quite what this device is supposed to achieve, I have not yet figured out, but I think it is designed to give a touch of class to an otherwise only averagely weird name. It results in creations like Jhun, Lhenn, Ghemma, and Jhimmy. Or how about Jhun-Jhun (Jhun2)?

How boring to come from a country like the UK full of people with names like John Smith. How wonderful to come from a country where imagination and exoticism rule the world of names.

Even the towns here have weird names; my favorite is the unbelievably named town of Sexmoan (ironically close to Olongapo and Angeles). Where else in the world could that really be true?

Where else in the world could the head of the Church really be called Cardinal Sin?

Where else but the Philippines !

Note: Philippines has a senator named Joker, and it is his legal name.

Letter of the Year

Got this from my friends' multiply account and found it very entertaining. This was allegedly from a newspaper. Read on and enjoy!

I thought Jay's ex-girlfriend was really out of our lives. But heaven only goes that I was wrong.
Kakakasal pa lang namin nun when Jay received a unanimous text. "Meet me at the clinic." I had a stinking feeling in my butt. I told him not to go.
Pero sabi nya, ok lang daw because life is what we make. Tumahimik lang ako. Sabi nya, "penny for you talks." But i didn't know what to say.
Beggars can't be losers. Isa pa, worried talaga ako na baka yung girl yun.
Jay said, "Can't got your tongue?" I tried to smile at him. Kahit di ako nagsalita, actions speak louder than works, di ba?
Be that as is may, umalis pa rin sya. I was out of the loophole. After a few hours, I called him on his cellphone. But my calls fell on Jeff's ears.
Lalo akong nag-worry kasi I didn't even know Jeff. Sabi na nga ba di na dapat umalis si Jay. That's what I'm talking about it.
So I tried calling some friends who will help me find Jay. That's what friends are for naman di ba? But i just faced a blank mall.
I had to do this alone. Nag-taxi na lang ako. Pero ang mahal na pala ng plug down rate.
When i got to the clinic, the security was really buffed up. Di basta-basta makakapasok. So i said, "I beg your cordon. I'm patient." It's my favorite virtue nga e.
Nagduda yata yung isang guard. Hinawakan ako sa arm. The nerd! I shouted, "Don't touch me not!" Buti na lang the other guards were nice and said, "Come on, let's join us."
When i went inside parang I've been there, done there. Nung walang nakatingin, nag explore ako. Nakarating ako sa top floor and i had a bird's IQ of the clinic.
I could not explain it but i was drawn to a room on the floor. Siguro Divine Intermission na yun.
Parang may naririnig akong umuungol. I was thorn. Di ko alam kung aalis ba ako o papasukin ko.
It made me stick in the stomach to think that Jay and his ex-girlfriend were there. I tried to tell myself to slower my expectations.
But to tell with it! I had to strike while the iron is not. I had to hear the truth from the corpse's mouth. I baragged in.
Omy gas! Si Jay, naka-strap sa operating table, parang genie pig sa isang nakakatakot na experiment. He was on the cutting edge. He was bleeding.
At ang doctor na nagpapahirap sa kanya, ang ex-girlfriend nya at ang bago nitong boyfriend, ang nurse na si Walter. Doon ko napatunayang blood is thickier than Walter.
Guess watch? Di ko alam kung paano ko nagawa pero i was able to search and rescue Jay. Siguro adrenaline brush na yun.
Now, he's recovering. Nag-sorry siya na hindi siya nakinig sa akin.
I know it's a better pill to swallow your pride so it's forgive and forget me not. All swell that end swell. I know we should kiss and put on makeup.
Ang ex-girlfriend naman niya at si Walter, nakakulong na. Detention is really better than cure. So the moral of the lesson is: if symptoms persist, insult your doctor.
