Missing TLC..

Casuy's father passed away and it was a gloomy day for my high school barkada. More than that, it was so sad that I wasn't able to go home to pay my last respect to Tito who's one of the coolest dad in our batch. He's always the one offering me cigarettes and beer knowing I'm the only girl in the group who's very open with my bisyo.. Casuy was a good friend since grade school. He was my debut's escort. My manong. My drinking partner. And the same guy who sent me money to spend for one of my vacation back home and the one who took care of me when I was jobless for a month. It sucks that he came home from the States, albeit to bury his dad, and I wasn't there. The pictures they posted was supposedly to cheer me up but it makes me want to kill myself. No more cake and food tripping with them. No more videoke and drinking sessions. Ever since I made myself a life here in Cebu, it seems I've distanced myself from the group. I'm so depressed right now that I want to kill them all! How I wish I could just go on leave and have the money to go home in a heartbeat.. I'll just sleep so I could stop crying..

Bacolod, Masskara and Karina..

October's almost here. It's Masskara again and for the nth time, I'll miss it! The street dancing and watching it outside my lola's house. The night-outs and squeezing in the crowded plaza and reclamation area. The funny looking masks. The chicken inasal at Manokan Country with the yellow oil we pour over rice. The cansi and nila^ga^. Tikboy's chicken barbeque and grilled bread. Papa's pagi and fresh-brewed coffee every morning. And my lola's valenciana! Everything! To make it worse, Karina Antoinette Francesca Valderrama is coming home and I can't be there. Buang ka Krns!!! Hahahahahaha! You should have notified me 2 months prior 'coz leave allocation in the call center industry is as scarce as rice in the Philippines! Yudiputa! I wish I never left Bacolod and never fell in-love with Cebu and Sinulog and Ryan and the friends I made here! Diputa!!! Bwiseeeeeeeeeet!!!

Sinulog '08

I came here July 2004, my first Sinulog [2005] was spent with a friend from Bacolod who was also a relocator, Mayang and Ryan, who was then a stranger. Sinulog '06 was also with Mayang and Ryan. Sinulog '07, Mayang was already back in Bacolod [I think] and I spent it with Ryan at home. This year was a total bummer. I slept the whole night last Saturday after watching a movie. Sunday, I had breakfast with Joedel who was here with his family and I watched a movie again in the afternoon with Talia. Then we headed to Ayala to meet with Joedel, Gwenk and Pang.. to catch the fireworks display but to our dismay, we didn't get to see it 'coz it felt like we were in the US waiting in line for a table in a restaurant. And we had to walk from Ayala to I dunno what's that place. I was so tired and grumpy. I just slept. Before the end of the night though, I received a huge news about one of my closest friends Fahrein. OMG! I don't want to elaborate 'coz she might get in trouble but, waaaaaaah! I'm so happy for you. Anyway, maybe I'm getting old. Ryan [the officemate] texted me Saturday and Sunday to party but the thought of all the sweaty [and maybe smelly] bodies all squeezing in a small place makes me want to just crawl under my blanket and sleep the night away. My BF went out with his friends and it was okay. I wanted to be alone anyway. Oh, about the movie that I watched? The Heartbreak Kid. It was sooo cool that I watched it twice, hehehehe. Gotta work now.

IMDb: Eddie is forty, owns a sporting-goods store, and is still single. After watching his ex-fiancée walk down the aisle, he meets Lila, an environmental researcher, who seems too good to be true. Pressured by his father and best friend, Eddie pops the question and marries Lila after only 6 weeks. However, as he almost instantly discovers, his new bride is a nightmare with more baggage than he can handle. She's immature, foolish, a monster in bed, owes a tremendous amount of money to various sources, and as it turns out, is only a volunteer and doesn't actually have a job. While on their honeymoon in Cabo, Eddie meets Miranda, a down-to-earth lacrosse coach who is visiting with her family. Sparks fly, and Eddie falls for her. Now comes the tricky part of breaking off his marriage to crazy Lila, all while keeping the truth from Miranda about why he's in Cabo in the first place...

I Take It Back

Okay, I was so emotional yesterday but I'm over it and I take back whatever I said. That someone did something that made me re-think and I'm glad I didn't do anything really drastic otherwise, I'd be home alone wallowing in regret. It's true what other people say that decisions often end up wrong when you do it while you're mad and I'm just glad I came to my senses. Anyway, the last two days were spent at our CEO's house in Silver Hills for training/planning/strategizing of goals for 2008. I'll be busy the whole day today, I came by the office to copy all my files to my V-Phone so I can still work while I'm in Bacolod. I'll be shopping for my manita, props and prizes for our games at around 10am with Ryan [the officemate] and Faith. I'll be leaving in awhile to pack my things and get a few hours of sleep. The party kicks off at around 5pm. Gwenk and I will be leaving at around 2:30am. I can't wait to see my family. I spoke with my younger brother the other day and I was surprised to know he's already 5'6 and he's only 15! Plus I'll see my crazy 3-year old cousin Cybill. I'm sure my cam and phone will be loaded with pictures and videos of her antics. I gotta go, some people are already practicing for their presentation tomorrow and I wanna take some snaps.

I Miss TRON!!!

I had blogged about my previous team TRON and how hard it was for me to leave 'em. Lately, I've been overwhelmed with the thought that a lot of 'em remember me and I've been receiving text messages inviting me to coffee or whatever. Last Saturday, Ryan [the officemate] and I was invited to TRON's Christmas Party at Zone360, a bar co-owned by a fellow Ilonggo who I worked with at PeopleSupport. The feeling of familiarity and again being with the people I had gone thru a lot with was amazing, even if it was just for a night. I've missed the fun we had. It was definitely a night I will remember for as long as I live. Pardon my being emotional. It's just that despite the fact that I'm now comfortable being at this new company and the friends I made here, three years is three years. Click on the picture for more pix. Here's a link to April, Candz and Katie's uploads.

I decided to have a body massage after the party and I wish I didn't. Twenty eight hours of no sleep, 3 shots of tequilla and a bad headache plus hard massage = sleep and snore. It was sooo embarassing! Anyway, woke up at about 9am on Sunday and spent the whole afternoon until midnight at Ryan's [the bestie] house in Lapu2x playing Tekken. Earlier today, I went to SM to do some christmas shopping with Ryan and Talia.. I wasn't able to buy anything 'coz the line at every counter was long and I don't like the idea of carrying a lot of things when I travel. I'm a lazy person in case I haven't mentioned that. I think it would be a better idea to just bring my family to SM-Bacolod [which I haven't been to since it was still unfinished last February], that way I don't have to worry that they might not like what I'm gonna get them.

Healthy Living

I wonder what my mom would say if she knows I'm not eating the food she would likely prepare for me if I'm still living with them.. She knows I smoke. I was forced to confess almost two years ago when I went home for a few days of vacation. I woke up and my dad handed me a cup of hot, fresh-brewed coffee. I thought it'd be stupid to have coffee in the restroom so I sat at the garden, fidgeting. Papa asked me what's wrong and I almost whispered with puppy eyes, "can I smoke?".. he looked at me surprised and said, "you smoke?" - I nodded. He stared at me for a minute and finally said, "go ahead, you're old enough and it's your money anyway.." Whew! I was also able to convince him to allow my brother to smoke openly since they already know he secretly does, usually after dinner at our friend's house on the other block. Everytime I'd be home, Mama would complain about the smell of cigarette and I try as much as possible to smoke outside but sometimes I can't help it, especially if I'm watching TV. Anyway, my parents, uncles and aunts are all excellent cooks. I dunno if being Ilonggo have something to do with it but I miss their cooking [I came here early 'coz Ryan brought food. His mom is Ilonggo, hehehehe.]. Since I moved here in Cebu, I have to be contented with ready-to-cook or fast foods. It's pretty amazing that I'm still healthy [if you know what I mean]. I lost weight two years ago and my Lola asked me if I was into drugs. Uhhh - I tried in college. I guess I was still adjusting to the food here in Cebu. Whenever I'd go home and I gain weight, they'd tell me I'm not controlling my food intake. I honestly dunno what to do. I'd like to think I neither lost nor gained weight since my February vacation. I'll find out because for the first time in 3 years, I'll be home for Christmas and New Year. I'll be leaving come December 22 and be back January 2 with the Bacolod peeps here in the office. It sucks 'coz the ticket is so expensive. Ugh. But it's better than taking a standing room, non-aircon bus like the one I took two years ago. I had to pretend I'm pregnant and suffer 6 hours of not smoking to make my alibi more convincing just so I can sit. I have to stop. I think I'm talking non-sense.
