LOL!

"You look almost as if you're siblings.."

We always get that from our friends. They always tell me that I spend most of my time with Ryan that we're starting to switch faces already. At some point, I was able to see our similarities but now I'm convinced. I was given an additional off today and Ryan's shift started 9pm. I chose to stay here at their house instead so I can take advantage of the unlimitted internet connection vs. spending P100 for my Globe Tattoo. Her granny's in the living room watching some soap and I'm still thinking of what else to do until around 1pm tomorrow. Ryan's shift ends at 6.30am but he will have his CISCO class from 8am-12nn. I'm sooo bored so I went profile-hopping in Facebook. I visited my high school friends' page and stumbled upon THIS SITE. And here's what I got..

OMG!!! I gasped. It's as if nothing changed. I've seen other morphed images and it's not as close as this. LOL! Now I wonder (based on superstitious beliefs), are we meant to stay together or not? I say WE'RE MEANT TO LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER!

Crappiest Job

Finally, I realized how lame it is to post a blog entry on two different sites so I posted a blog in Multiply (http://www.claudine813.multiply.com/) today saying that from this day on, all my blogs would ONLY be posted here.

Yesterday, I visited a previous officemate's page in Facebook and saw his shoutout about his essay that he posted @ www.jessicarulestheuniverse.com which earned him the award for his "perseverance in the face of Orwellian absurdity" with the question, "What was the crappiest job you ever had?" We used to work together in PeopleSupport and I was able to convince him to try his luck at Global Response. Even before I read the essay, I commented:

Claudine Santillan
my crappiest job would have been GR hahahaha not the job itself, definitely not the people but the boss.. THE BOOOOSSSSS!!! hahahaha
Yesterday at 6:47am

See, I already knew he'd say GR. Why? Read the essay below. Ryan is such a gifted writer that though our experience with GR is worth a week of chat over coffee, he was somehow able to fit a summary of our life with the company in a short essay. If this is not enough, you may want to read on my previous posts. FYI, I'm the officemate who called our managers "rookies" LOL!

# 6 Rye Says: July 17th, 2009 at 9:32 am
It really depends on what one sees as crappy. I had this really memorable job which paid big but with a catch: our boss was a little on a “odd” side.

When I started, everything seemed smooth. We were made to meet our American boss (let’s call him Mr. X). We were warned about Mr. X before, about how “odd” he was, but the first meeting went well nonetheless. He gave this speech about how we were supposed to love our jobs, how we’re supposed to work hard, because it was all going to pay off when each of us had laptops and cars and big houses. Then I was introduced to him: name, position, and sexual orientation (What’s up with people introducing you to others and indicating your sexual preference? “Hey, I’d like to introduce you to my friend. He’s gay.” Why can’t they just add your interests, like in those personal ads? “Hey, this is my friend. He’s into reading, travelling, and removing benign cysts.”). After the introductions, Mr. X told me he’s OK with gays, that he has no problem with them. (Umm… do you have to say that if you’re really OK with gays? The way he said it was equivalent to this: “Hi, Morgan Freeman, I would like you to know that I’m OK with negroes.”)

A couple of months later, I found out what made our company different from other companies. We had eviction nights. I found that out when our boss asked us to write down on a piece of paper what we loved about the company, what we didn’t love about it, what we liked about our work, and what we didn’t. He said we should be honest because he wouldn’t mind. While writing down my honest answers, a co-worker who’d been there a few months earlier told me we were having another eviction night. The next night, our boss met with us to have our answers read aloud, and to point out by yelling that we were wrong with our honest answers. A co-worker who wrote that she thought the managers were rookies was yelled at because she had an attitude problem. I was yelled at because I wrote that I didn’t like the politics and the mind games. He told me that I should resign. I didn’t.

Weeks later was another eviction night. We were divided into three groups: the first group being good (I was lucky enough to be in this group), the second group on the fence, and the last group the ones being evicted. Actually, they were asked to opt for a pay cut or get evicted. Half of them chose to get evicted (with severance pay), and others chose the pay cut, intent on proving themselves worthy of being in the company. They never did prove themselves. Weeks later, they belonged to the same group and ended up shedding tears. This should be longer. But since you said we should keep our essays brief, I’ll end this here with a couple of paragraphs more.

One time, a girl was asked to leave when she reported for work with her hair wet. Apparently, you haven’t meditated enough yet to consider yourself ready to get right down to work when you’ve just had a shower. We’d also be asked to leave if we didn’t have a schedule of all the things we were going to do for the day (9:30PM-meditate; 10:00PM-call whatsisname, bring up the contract; 10:13PM-role-play with colleagues in order to close a deal!).

Another time, we were interrupted from work because in 12 minutes, we had to send our boss a YM message explaining why we loved the job, and how serious we were in succeeding in life.

I started there with 30 or so people. When I finally resigned, there were 8-10 of us left. Why did I resign? Well, we were bonding with our boss one morning and he was making jokes. It was past work hours already. It was a fun meeting; he wasn’t in a bad mood. He said something and I joked back, asking him to buy me a butt-plug. It was funny (but you had to be there). The more conservative people aired out their yuuuccckkks, paired with laughter. My boss also laughed. The next day, after work, he sat us down for another meeting. He pointed at me and told me I was singing for an hour during work. Apparently, one cannot do a good job if he/she is singing along to songs on the radio. I told him I couldn’t have been singing for an hour; that’s just impossible! That’s like singing along to two albums with bonus tracks! And then he said, “I’m a multi-fucking-millionaire and you ask me to buy you a butt-plug?!”

In my head, I said, “Oh Em Gee! Why is he bringing that up? That was yesterday’s tea! It’s now cold and uninteresting!” Then he talked to me one-on-one and offered me a pay cut or a severance pay. I chose to stay that day. But the next night, after much thinking, I told him I was leaving. We fist-bumped and I never saw him again. About two days later, I learned that the deal I was working on got closed. That should have been a slap in his face because I managed to close a deal while singing along to songs on the radio! A week later, I heard the company was dissolved. I didn’t get my commission. And none of us was able to buy laptops, cars, and big houses. But what’s crappier is that we held this Big Brother kind of job, with eviction nights and all, but none of us gained celebrity out of it.

Story of Judson

Eversince I saw YouTube sensation Rin on the Rox's version of Star Spangled Banner a week ago, I've been obsessed about looking for the best rendition from both artists and ordinary people. Then I stumbled upon this video of a two-year old cutie. His name is Judson Levasheff and based on the video info posted by his mom: Jud died 6 mo. after this video was taken. He was just 2 years, 4 months old (28 months) in this video, singing the Star Spangled Banner. On November 7, 2007 Judson died from an extremely rare genetic, incurable, terminal disease, called Krabbe, a leukodystrophy, that in just a short time (since May 2007, right after this video was taken) caused him to become mute, blind, fully paralyzed, and more. For more information about Jud you can go to www.StoryOfJudson.com

I've watched all his videos even before I visited his website and I have never cried this hard (even as I'm typing this) in a looong time. I fell in-love with the kid and I don't really care if I'm acting like a baby crying for someone I don't personally know. Sigh..

Here's an excerpt from his book that will soon be published.. This a journal entry by Jud's mom.. Ugh, I can't stop crying!

Journal Entry
August 7, 2007 - Tuesday
A Welcome Disruption

I feel like my heart is breaking into a million pieces. Not only was it a difficult day facing some realizations after a visit to Jud's doctors, but I came home to a little boy whose very countenance grips me at the core...

...This evening, I laid there in bed with him and didn't want to let go of his frail frame. I felt his stiff ankles and longed for the touch of my hand to soften them. I massaged his calves as they spasmed, and wished I had the power to ease his pain. I kissed his eyes, desiring for the softness of my lips to restore his sight. I listened to his voice as he struggled to express himself, and then kissed his lips hoping it would breathe life back into his speech. I stroked the hair on his head, entreating God to heal his brain.

I finally tore myself away from the extended embrace of his diseased body and sat on the bean bag chair next to his bed. Without a word, he reached his fragile hand around the bed rail for me to hold. As tears rushed down my face in the quietness of his room, I started to tickle the palm of his hand. The silence of the night was interrupted with laughter. It was a welcome disruption from my pain.

Jud's body is broken, and my heart is broken. Please God, restore them both!

Is this going to be forever?!

I've been very pre-occupied with Farm Town lately that I completely forgot about the other things that I used to love. Wait, pre-occupied is not the proper term.. ADDICTED! I even bought a second hand laptop just so I can extend my farm because the f*cking computers at the Expresso can't handle the application. Anyway, since I'm just waiting for Ryan to set-up the laptop... I mean customize and also still deliberating which internet connection I'm gonna get for myself.. I decided to do something I used to do a lot before.. Watch funny babies/kids in YouTube. And I found this video of a 7-year old boy who got sooo wasted after going to the dentist. The meds are probably just too heavy for the kid.. I've never laughed this hard in a loooooong time..

Latest Addiction

I don't know how long Facebook's Farm Town can keep me away from logging in Friendster, Multiply and Blogspot. Been playing for less than two weeks and I'm now at Level 22. I've had sleepless nights and overbreaks because of this game which I originally thought as a waste of time. Now, I get irritated whenever Ryan uses the PC not because I feel he doesn't have time for me, but because I want to farm all day long.. Just last night, I had tantrums because he turned off the alarm so my grapes have all gone to waste.. Believe me, if you're into this game, you'd understand how frustrating that is..

So You Think You Can Be A Millionaire?

I'm guessing this is the last week of my Sat-Sun off. The shift bid was just concluded and I got Sun-Mon off, 10pm shift. Thanks to Kathee Pacquee (I'll pray her cousin Manny wins over Hatton!) hahahahaha! And both of us will still do special projects until our new class starts training sometime July! Yup, it's gonna be quite sometime working without a team and just be the bitch of the bosses, harharhar!

I'm not sure if what happened yesterday was just for Cebu or was it the whole Visayas. Imagine how upsetting it was when we learned that even SM didn't have their air conditioning on. Everybody was sweating and we thought the cinema was an exemption so we decided to watch Monsters vs. Aliens. But, it turned out they only had fans for ventilation. The cabs aircon wasn't enough so I had to take off my bra even before we reached Ryan's house, hahahaha! I was sooo tired from work so I slept even with the heat and woke up to find my shirt soaked up in sweat. Gross! Anyway, it rained today so it's not as hot as yesterday.

I watched Slumdog Millionaire today out of curiousity and now I understand why people are going crazy about it. I wasn't bored even for a sec. I think the movie is fantastic and I'll leave it to the critics to tell you why.

I have a lot of new YouTube videos to share but I'm getting really tired and Ryan is itching to download new movies and he just can't because I'm streaming some videos. And I'll let him update his f*cking Mafia Wars! I think it's a non-sense and boring application but I don't understand why a lot of people are hooked! Apparently, I'm already in level 10 or 12. He's playing with my login to his advantage. I think he uses me as a shield or something. I don't even know what I'm talking about. The only thing I know about it is how to send the character to the hospital or deposit at the bank 'coz that's what he trust he can let me do for him when I'm using the PC and he's logged in. Anyway, here are two So You Think You Can Dance video suggested by an officemate. Cool!

Oh Wow!

I'm sleepy, tired and bored. Thus the video, hehehehe..

I've heard a lot about Susan Boyle and I never took the time to look at her videos up until today. OMG! Just like the rest of the audience and the judges, I thought she was just another loser and waste of time. How did she reach 47 without being noticed?! She's one of a kind, I like her version more than I like Lea's. Here's the video for those who have not seen it yet.. CLICK HERE 'coz the embed function is disabled. Look at Simon's expression.. PRICELESS! LOL!

I'm Hooked!

Okay. So I am forcing myself not to blog about American Idol. I actually don't watch anymore. Except during my RD. YouTube is my bestfriend. And I think I'm doing great. And I thought instead of blogging about AI, why not post YouTube videos that interests me and I hope will interest others too. As you've noticed, the last few posts have been videos I randomly selected. Lately, I've been addicted to this family with a sweet mom and hottie dad with their 2 sets of twin! Riley and Aidan (boy-girl) and the ever adorable Peyton and Brennan (identical boys). I just can't stop watching their videos. I woke up today and listened to the giggling and laughing and kulitan videos. Ryan thinks I'm weird. I don't care.

Anyway, trainer Anne and I had a brief facebook chat session earlier this morning and she pointed out that she's in-love with this Gabe Bondoc. I've seen him before and I don't know how he's related to Jimmy Bondoc but he's playing a guitar too and they have similarities on the physical aspect. I like his voice and his version of Rihanna's Take A Bow but what got me going on YouTube since 5am are videos of ordinary but talented people. The population of wannabe's hoping to get noticed thru YouTube have grown over the last few weeks. With Rin On The Rox guesting on Ellen, Mia Rose getting more subsciptions because she's sooo pretty.. Now there's Jess Delgado who sounds like Norah Jones and his best hopefully not boyfriend.. But so far, this girl have caught my attention and I almost kicked Ryan when he told me he will use the PC and I had to stop watching for awhile. Her name's Melissa Polinar.. Here's a sample video..

Oh, and you've got to see this guy! Made me laugh sooo hard!

F*cking Pigs!

My shift ends at 06:30 am. I went home earlier around 07:30 and ate breakfast with my landlady's niece. I took a bath and hit the sack at around 08:30. I was awaken yet again with loud banging from the room right above me at 10:21 and I haven't slept since then. I don't know how many times I have to send a message to them either by asking my landlady to tell them to be mindful of the noise they're making or by throwing a stress ball at the kisame to let them know I need to sleep! There are even times when I'd do several tapping at the kisame using a hanger to no avail. Blame my being nice for not having the balls to tell them off myself. I mean, I'm not bitching about the heavy footsteps they're making since I understand that they're (read: live-in) on the heavy side. Or that they clean their room almost everyday (who does that?!). It's just that they drag their furnitures or what-nots around the wooden floor and how clumsy can they get that they drop something (heavy!) almost every 5 minutes! F*cking pigs! There are 2 rooms on the ground floor. The other tenant is also a QA working at Convergy's. The girl should know that call center peeps need sleep more than anything else - well, next to a bigger pay, hehehehe..Ü since she onced work in one but had to quit because she can't stand the graveyard shift. I came here in the office at around 2pm to chillax since I was on the verge of making sulong. When I got back, they seemed to be asleep and as I was feeling the exhaustion and frustration sink in, there it was again. Banging, dragging, dropping. F*cking pigs! I still have to evaluate calls and encode/finish all my deliverables since the team I'm handling is already on RD until the deadline, attend a 2-hour training, facilitate a calibration, render the remaining hours of the mandatory phone time, do a spotcheck (on-the-spot Q&A to know if managers are reading email updates) and take real-time escalations. How am I supposed to do all that with enthusiasm if my head is throbbing and I yawn as often as every 10 minutes?! F*cking pigs! I was tempted to pull the plug out of their telephone box to disconnect their internet connection to get back at them but I was hesitant as I might pull the wrong one. Do you know anyone who can barang them?! Like make them puke non-stop for a day or two.. or make them poop every 10 minutes.. Aaarrrggghhh!!! Die f*cking pigs! DDDIIIEEE!!!!!!!!!

Baby Got Back.. Not!

I was right that people would be copying the Baby Got Back Wedding Dance. The two video below started my day right.. especially the second one! I love it!!!

HOME

Taken

I was literally at the edge of this battered computer chair for the most part of Liam Neeson's Taken. It's now officially one of my all-time favorite movies eventhough the plot was almost the same with that of Harrison Ford's Firewall.

"I don't know you who you are. I don't know what you want. If you're looking for a ransom, I can tell you, I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills acquired over a very long career in the shadows, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you. And I will kill you."

And he did. He took down the entire syndicate just to get his daughter back. I think Maggie Grace looked retarded whenever she runs, which she did in a number of scenes. But she's pretty and I think she has Jessica Alba features in some angles.. This movie should be a lesson to freedom-craving teenagers (cue in my father's eye rolling).

I've been trying to resist blogging about American Idol and I think I'm doing okay because it's been awhile since I mentioned it in any of my blogs. But there's an idol wannabe that's been making me excited the same way David Archuleta did. Anoop Desai!!! I think he's really good. I've seen his performances and even old YouTube videos with his choir. There's something about him that makes me want to look forward to his performances. I want him to stay long in the competition along with Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey and Allison Iraheta who almost made me shit my pants with her rendition of Alone.

I need to crash..

A Movie A Day..

Our account, a famous bank in the US was acquired by another financial industry giant and so with the conversion comes chaos. You wouldn't want to be in the office. It's the next best thing to a marketplace. Except that the people are dressed to the nines with clients floorwalking. The past few days had been exhausting for me basically because I hate that we're required to wear a closed shoe with a minimum of 1 inch heels. Can you believe that?! We're not even allowed to wear a skirt that would show our knees. Not that I'd wear a skirt. Sigh.

Anyway, about the title.. I've been bugging Ryan non-stop to keep me sane by spending every free time he have with me. We watched The Yes Man, Confessions of a Shopaholic and Push the last 3 days. He won first prize in a company initiated activity, Rubik's cube challenge so the 3K he won made up for the money we spent eating at about anywhere and watching whatever movie with a good title and poster.

It's already 10pm and my shift started 3 minutes ago but I don't feel like going back inside the office and be held up for a real-time escalation. I know, I'm paid to do that but my feet is killing me and I'd rather stay in my workstation re-reading non-sense emails! Hahahaha! Anyway, gotta go..

Tired..

I'm freaking tired! I don't really know what I have been doing to feel this tired. I should feel relaxed after the two days in Bohol with Ryan and the certification of my last batch. I'm guessing this has something to do with FictionPress, hahahaha! See, while I was still with TRON, with so much petiks time in our hands, we read random stories in FP. Some of which are stories written by our friends. Getting Malcolm happens to be one of my fave but had been unupdated for the past year. The author used to be an officemate in PS and we were out of touch for quite sometime (while I was silently hoping she'd update --- like Ryan's Sick With Lack OF Basis, nagpa dungog2x ko Ryan..). Then I realized she's also in ePerformax, thus my constant pangulit to her. Finally, she updated last week after taking a few days of leave and I had to re-read everything. So sitting in front of the PC the whole shift yesterday was probably what made me really2x tired. Good thing , the last batch I handled certified out of ABay so I had to let them go.. (except for a few who unfortunately had to be the subject of my practice at being heartless since the coach I was paired up with, said I need to learn how to be straightforward in telling a trainee that we have to drop him/her). Tonight will be the start of OJT for my new batch. I'm not as excited as most gays on the floor though. There were about, hmmm let's see, 3-4 cuties in this batch. But I have yet to hear them talk..

I still want to blog about something else but the temperature in this room's killing me! I gotta go, I'm sweating like a pig!

Rin On The Rox!

It's been boring the last few days. Well, except for the big ITR I got, hehehehe.Ü Yesterday was my li'l bro, Reymart and my bf's grandma, Manet's birthday. Though it's sad to have not spent another birthday of one of my siblings, my bf's family never failed to make me feel I belong.

Ryan showed me a video yesterday of yet another YouTube Sensation, Rin On The Rox. I listened to almost all their versions and I have to admit, they're really2x good. After reading some comments, I learned Rin's for Erin (who looks like Isay Alvarez) and Rox is for Roxanne (who looks like Angel Locsin). According to their YouTube profile --> Nationality? Yes, we both are Filipino, but as for Roxanne shes half Filipino and White... =)

Can't wait for their guesting in Ellen. Check 'em out!

Tip Roñes!

It's the time of the year again when Cebu celebrates Sinulog. Sinulog.ph: The Sinulog festival is one of the grandest and most colorful festivals in the Philippines. The main festival is held each year on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City to honor the Santo Niño, or the child Jesus, who used to be the patron saint of the whole province of Cebu (since in the Catholic faith Jesus is not a saint, but God). It is essentially a dance ritual which remembers the Filipino people’s pagan past and their acceptance of Christianity.

Luckily, I was given additional offs so I can to enjoy the celebration. Joedel, a friend from childhood came here for the festivities with his family and we hang out last night at IT Park. My previous team planned something for later so I'm up early to meet some of them in the office. Ryan and some of his friends from work are playing Dota and out of boredom, I decided I'd blog even if I don't know what to blog, hehehehe.Ü Damn this internet cafe, everything in this computer screams Korean. I'm relying in my familiarity with the icons and position of links to figure out what to click.

If you haven't seen The Curios Case of Benjamin Button yet, I suggest you do. The movie has an unusual plot and I loved the story. The only thing I didn't like about the movie is the fact that the most part of it was focussed on Button's old age. I was silently cursing and hoping I'd get to see what happens when he gets to his teenage years while Daisy's tits are already sagging. The movie made me see how this text message from a friend would look and feel like if it comes true.. "Wouldn't it make more sense if the life cycle were backwards? We should die first, get it out of the way. Then live with the wisdom of old age. Go to work. Work 40 years 'til we're young enough to enjoy our retirement. Booze, get laid, party. Get ready for highschool, then off to grade school, become a kid, play and have no worries. Become a little baby, go back into the womb, spend the last 9 months floating and finish off as an orgasm. Perfect ending right? It was just weird and freaky to see an old man having an attraction with a little girl and seeing an old lady bathing a child she used to fuck, hehehehe..Ü

I found a few things yesterday while I was surfing the net at Ryan's place. One of which is the article Kolgirl which was published by Inquirer. It's an article about the call center lifestyle and I can't agree more with what the author said. Read it HERE. These videos on the other hand made me laugh like crazy. Hope you enjoy it and PIT SEñOR EVERYBODY!!!

It's Here Again

American Idol. Woohoo!!! I promised myself I'm not gonna blog as much as I did for season 7. And I think that's what's gonna happen since I haven't gotten myself a new TV. My RD for now is Tue-Wed so that gives me the chance to watch it since I spend my off here's at Ryan's place. I dunno next week. I want to see every episode like last season. Like I didn't miss one episode and I annoyed the hell out of some people for blogging like crazy, hahahahaha! Don't worry, that's not gonna happen this time. Ü

There's a new addition to the AI family. Singer/songwriter Kara DioGuardi as the fourth judge. Heard and seen her only once and I thought it was Katharine McPhee. I was looking for the YouTube video of Lost by Faith Hill and I saw her own rendition since she co-wrote it. I like her style and her voice. I didn't know she's gonna be big. Good for her. She's pretty.

Just when I thought social networking is dead, I'm bombarded with Facebook notifications. I registered about a year ago and recently, my inbox had been flooded with updates. I noticed some of my friends' Friendster profile are unupdated but their Facebook are up-to-date. Should I permanently move? We'll see.

Ryan tried blogging. And this is what he had for a start ---> my friends and i are still friends, but they don't want me to be here, so all i can say is "It's Here Again". He typed this while I was in the restroom. I wanted him to try blogging but now I think he's better off playing his war games. Hahahaha!

Lately..

It's a boring Wednesday morning. It's my off and I have my period. Yet another frustrating false alarm after not having my period for the whole month of December. Ryan and I woke up earlier at around 5am. We had breakfast of pancit canton and torta, with hot coffee and bahaw. Yesterday, I had allergies but I just slept it off because Ryan refused to come with me to the hospital 'coz he was too tired. What an ass! We celebrated our anniversary last January 2 and he dropped by the office and asked me to have lunch with him at a resto in Banilad just across the resto where we had our first "date" back in 2004. It was a simple yet sweet celebration. More to come (I hope!).

Office. Hmmm.. I had been handling my aBay class for the last two weeks and I'm really enjoying myself. I miss my previous team but most of the time they occupy the pod next to my team so it feels like nothing's changed. I like the fact that I'm handling newbies. Still scared and obedient, hehehehe.Ü I even have one agent who'd basically shake and stutter when she sees me with my clipboard and y-cord. But that for me is the challenge of the position. To teach and make them improve and in the process take out their inhibitions and develop confidence.

American Idol is almost here so that means I really have to get a TV within this week. The TV I previously used was part of the room that I rented in Mabolo. Hope the sweldo this coming Friday is bigger than the usual.

I was able to successfully upload all the pictures of Team Nebo's christmas party in Regency Crest last December 28. HERE's the link to the compiled pictures from mine, Borgie and Soc's cam.

I don't know what else to blog about.
